If you'd like a brief summary of my qualifications and background, my resume might be what you are looking for.

(I also just so happened to design that site for him!)

Who I am

Hi, I'm Michael. I'm a systems and software engineer at Amazon in San Diego. I previously was an embedded software engineer at Aruba Networks. During my full-time work and internships at Aruba, I created and implemented a new API for network switch firmwares to use to more easily access line card data. I also created a new mode for their network switches to allow hub-like functionality, decreasing the amount of old hardware the testing teams had to rely on. I'm a proud alumnus of Cal Poly SLO -- I graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.
In high school, I was the lead software and electrical engineer on the Sea Sweepers ROV team, which placed second internationally at the college level.
I am always looking for opportunities in research or in industry for embedded software engineering and cryptography -- if you have any opportunities or questions for me, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Music Production

In my free time, I enjoy producing electronic and hip-hop music. This has been a hobby of mine since middle school.
In 2021, I released "Dependent", my first full-length album. In 2023, I released "Where I Am", my second full-length album.

Programming

I love all aspects of programming. I am most comfortable writing in C and Python, but I am quick to learn new things, and have learned Java while at Amazon.
I originally got into programming through my love for video games and curiosity of how they worked under the hood. As time went on, I found even more passion in the field through various side projects and research.

What I do

I work on multiple projects and have many hobbies.

Programming

I have experience working in Python, C and Java, and have a passion for low-level systems, including operating systems, firmware, and emulation.

Full Stack Web Development

I have worked on both the front-end and back-end experiences for multiple services currently being used by Amazon. I also have created and maintain many websites, including my dad's website and a small law firm's website.

Security and Cryptography

The security of systems fascinates me -- especially as it pertains to elections systems and election security. I am looking for more opportunities in this area.

Homebrew and Jailbreaking

I have contributed to open-source projects for iOS tweaks and Nintendo console homebrew software. The ability to have more control of devices I own was one reason I became so interested in technology.

Computer Building

Having a custom PC is intimidating to some, but it is for more than just hardcore gamers. I help many of my friends build their own desktop computers with specifications that are best-suited for their needs.

And more!

Lots of non-technical things interest me as well, including politics, music, spirituality, video games, and fitness. I also am a vinyl record, video game and sneaker collector.
